DWI Services

Driving While Impaired is a serious charge that can affect life across multiple areas. If you’ve gotten a DWI, you’ll need to choose a DWI Assessment & Treatment Provider who can ensure the successful restoration of your driving privileges, on a timetable that works with your schedule. At Brightleaf, we offer DWI assessments & flexible treatment plans to help you get your driver’s license back. Brightleaf Counseling Co. offers reliable & affordable license restoration services & is a NC authorized DWI Service Provider (DWI Facility Code 51316).

A DWI Substance Use Assessment is required of everyone who is convicted of Driving While Impaired in the state of North Carolina. You cannot receive a Limited Driving Privilege without a DWI Assessment. Brightleaf Counseling Company is a fully licensed NC DWI Services provider & can assist you with your assessment in a professional, confidential and timely manner.

Brightleaf Counseling Company can usually complete an assessment the day you call to request an appointment. The DWI assessment and related paperwork take approximately 90 minutes. A NC DWI assessment requires your lifetime driving record and the printout of your breathalyzer/blood test. Brightleaf will ensure that your assessment & all related paperwork is managed & sent to your attorney, the courts, or the NC Division of Motor Vehicles – leave it all to us, we’ll take care of it.

A copy of your lifetime driving record may be obtained from the Clerk of Court’s office; it should be signed or stamped by the NCDMV. The Clerk’s Office is also where you can obtain a copy of your Breathalyzer reading (BAC).

The cost of NC DWI Assessments is $100. The $100 fee is established by the Legislature of the State of NC. The full fee is to be collected at the time of the assessment. Fee payment of $100 for the assessment may be paid by cash or money order. Brightleaf Counseling Co. does not take checks for DWI or court required assessments.

Getting your DWI assessment completed as early as possible can help you receive your Limited Driving Privileges more quickly. In NC, a DWI assessment is required to receive the limited privileges 10 days into the 30 day civil revocation. Getting your assessment done quickly can shorten the period of time you can’t drive during your Civil Revocation.

State of NC rules require that a Substance Abuse assessment is valid for only 6 months. Counseling or ADETS must be started within 6 months from the date of the assessment or a new assessment is required by the State.

Brightleaf Counseling Company is a certified E508 provider. Once we are notified that your case has been resolved and the outcome date, a 508 form can be completed. The 508 form is the document the State of NC requires to process the paperwork allowing for restoration of driving privileges. The correct conviction date is required for the State of NC to release a driver’s license for restoration. It is the responsibility of the client to notify the DWI provider of the conviction date so the E508 can be completed & before driving privileges can be restored.
